Our Dentists

Dr. Smith is a Graduate of University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB) School of Dentistry, where he earned his DMD (Doctor of Dental Medicine) degree.

Prior to Dental School, Dr Smith earned degrees in:

     -Chemistry (Bachelors of Science) from UAB

     -International Business and Spanish (Bachelors of Arts) from Samford University

     -Masters in International Business (MBA) from Universidad de Belgrano in Buenos Aires, Argentina and Ecole Nationale des Ponts et Chaussees in Paris, France where he was a Rotary Ambassadorial Scholar.

Before opening his own dental office in Dodge City, Dr Smith practiced Dentistry in Eutaw, AL (Greene County) as an Associate for Dr David H Crump, DMD; in Childersburg, AL (Talladega County) as an Associate for Dr Troy H. Dennis, DMD; and, at the Rural Health Center in Pine Apple, AL (Wilcox County) through a rural initiative with UAB School of Medicine, UAB School of Public Health and the UAB School of Dentistry.

Dr Smith serves as an Adjunct Faculty of UAB School of Dentistry as a Professor in the Limited Care Department (Emergency/Walk-In) where he teaches Dental Students in Oral Diagnosis.

Dr Smith is an active member of:

     -Alabama Dental Association (ALDA)

     -Academy of General Dentistry (AGD)

     -American Dental Society of Anesthesiology (ADSA)

     -Hispanic Dental Association (HDA)

     -Cahaba Valley Health Care (CVHC)

Dentistry is a second career for Dr Smith.  As a little boy, he always said he wanted to be a doctor but ended up exploring other avenues right after college at Samford. Prior to beginning Professional School, he worked in Asset/ Liability Risk Managment for Investment Banks as well as Enterprise Resource Planning for the Construction Materials Industry.  He has lived abroad extensively.
